Trail of Cthulhu – The Kidnapping

Adam Cornelisz, the infant son of the wealthy Cornelisz family of New York, has gone missing. The rumour is he has been kidnapped. Jacob Cornelisz is well connected and you are dispatched immediately to investigate the crime.

Please note – this is a decent length adventure and we will not complete it in one sitting. If you are enjoying it and want more I will schedule the rest to run at FGDaze! (or possibly earlier). We will play fast and loose – more in the Pulp style than the Purist and we will see how far we get!

Trail of Cthulhu

Trail of Cthulhu is based on the writings of H. P. Lovecraft. It is set during the historical 1930s of our own world, but with fictional characters and locations (such as Professor Armitage and Arkham), and the menacing Cthulhu Mythos present in the background. Horrid monsters lurk in dark and forgotten places, while fiendish cults worship Great Old Ones and Outer Gods through blasphemous rituals. Ordinary people that are drawn into and forced to confront this world of mystery and horror risk not only their physical well-being, but their mental health as well.

Greetings, I’d like to participate in this game. I am a veteran DnD player but I have absolutely no idea about Cthulhu system.

If it is ok, please tell me some sources that I can read until the event to have the basics.

    Thanks

Hey Toobuy you are absolutely welcome to join this session. No experience is required. If you would like to do some reading you can hit the quick start guide – http://www.pelgranepress.com/trail/files/trail_of_cthulhu_condensed_rules.pdf its still a fairly weighty 24 pages so dont sweat it if you dont get thru it all. We will most likely play more PULPY than PURIST and try to keep the action going as much as possible.
Trail of Cthulhu has much of the Cthulhu Mythos but it uses the GUMSHOE system rather than the Call of Cthulhu system. The game is still much more investigative than combat oriented but it gives you a few more clues and there probably is somewhat more combat in ToC vs CoC. I hope that has helped somewhat and not just made things more confusing for you!

I will have to bow out of this game. I won’t be able to stay awake for this game.
