This session will be an introduction to the Symbaroum RPG. I have a skeleton ruleset up, and will be running the introduction adventure for Symbaroum, called the Promised Land.
This session aims to be a fun introduction to the Symbaroum system, as well as the beautiful and evocative setting. There are nine premade characters to pick from (Humans, Changeling, Orges and Goblins) and plenty of opportunities for good role-playing too.
I will also be keen on feedback on what tools / extras we might add to the ruleset to make it support the system better. Right now, the ruleset has enough to run the game with, but with a few playthroughs I hope to find more areas to improve it for players and GMs alike.

really looking forward to trying Symbaroum
Great – we have four players – should be enough for a good session !
Just to set expectations, this is the first game of Symbaroum I have ever ran (in any format) – although I’ve GM’d plenty other systems. I’ve also built up the ruleset from scratch (well, from the basic CoreRPG ruleset) in the last two weeks, so it’s going to be fairly light on fancy tools, but the character sheet is looking pretty good now!
We’ll be running through the intro scenario from the book, which has nine pre-generated characters to choose from. I’ll send over a PDF of them in advance, hopefully, so people can read through them and decide which they’d like to play in advance of the game.
Also, I aim to get the server up 1 hour before the game, to give everyone a chance to log in and get the ruleset installed. I’m only on lowly ADSL in Australia, so with 1Mbps upstream, it can take a while (10-15 mins). Once everyone is in, I should be able to jump into Teamspeak and chat with you guys / get the game started! I’ll also get a Teamspeak channel set up 1 hour in advance (although will be mostly AFK until the start time)
Thanks Phantomwhale!
