Smaug is slain and the King Under the Mountain once again sits on his rightful throne. Dale is rebuilt, and trade runs up and down the Long Lake.
For ten years, the Dwarves have undertaken great labours to restore the Kingdom under the Mountain. Its wealth and renown are rapidly increasing and seem destined to grow greater than before. More Dwarves arrive every year from distant lands and join King Dáin’s underground court.
You are Dwarves (accompanied by a Woodman and a Beorning), and word of these famed deeds has reached your ears in far lands. You are leading a caravan from the Blue Mountains across the Wilderland. After debate among your families and clans, you have resolved to no longer live as wandering exiles but to join the rightful home of Durin’s folk and devote your skills and labour to its greatness. Only one among you, Onar the Ancient, a survivor of that terrible day Smaug descended upon the mountain, ever knew Erebor. Now, in his final winters, he wishes to give his heart peace by laying his eyes one last time upon his beloved old home, the Lonely Mountain.
A Sandbox Journey Adventure
This is a sandbox adventure showcasing the Journey rules in The One Ring. Players will choose their route beyond Mirkwood, prepare for their journey, and lead the expedition to reach, at last, Erebor before winter–or die trying (a real possibility). Can you fulfill the final wish of white-bearded Onar to rest his old eyes on the home of his youth, the Lonely Mountain?

The One Ring Roleplaying Game

It is the year 2951 of the Third Age, ten years since the Battle of Five Armies. The lands east of the Misty Mountains are astir. From the cloud-shrouded peaks above the High Pass to the spider-infested gloom of the forest of Mirkwood, paths long-deserted are trodden once again. Busy merchants carry their wares to new markets, messengers bring tidings from foreign realms, and kings send forth armed men to extend their influence and the rule of law. Some say that a new age of freedom has begun, a time for adventure and great deeds to reclaim glories lost in long centuries of oppression and decline.
In The One Ring Roleplaying Game, you take the part of the heroes of Middle-earth. You will travel the land, uncover its secrets, take part in its unfolding history and encounter its inhabitants and legends. As the Shadow creeps back across the lands of the Free Peoples, you will uncover hints of what is happening, and have the chance to play a part in the struggle against the Enemy

Welcome, players! As we get closer, I’ll post the pre-generated characters here so everyone can have an advanced look and perhaps even choose them.
Here is a listing of the pre-gen characters to choose from (I’ll share the full pre-gen PCs soon). The quick summary is:
–a Dwarf of the Blue Mountains Wanderer travelling merchant;
–a Dwarf of the Blue Mountains Treasure-Hunter;
–a Dwarf of the Blue Mountains scholar (and daughter of the elder whom the caravan is trying to escort safely to The Lonely Mountain);
–a Dwarf of the Blue Mountains minstrel (scholar);
–a Dwarf of the Grey Mountains slayer; and
–a Beorning warden.
P.S. The Blue Mountain Dwarves are the heart of the party and should be chosen first.
