What is Starfinder?
In short: Pathfinder in space.
A little bit longer: A science-fiction/science fantasy role-playing game by Paizo.
What is Starfinder Society?
Basically the Organized Play of Starfinder, similar to 5E’s Adventurers League. Generally less flexibility for the players and the GM but characters can be “ported” to the games of other GMs.
Why should I play it?
Well, first it’s a role-playing game in space.
Second, in my personal opinion it is better balanced than Pathfinder.
Did I already mention that you get to be in space?
About this scenario
A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–4.
An important data package requires that the PCs travel in person to secure it. [What could go wrong?]
Written by Jason Tondro.
Scenario tags: None
This scenario could take around 3-4 1/2 hours but please reserve all 5 hours to account for any unforeseen circumstances.
Please note that we’ll need at least three players to have a legal table.
You might have noticed I stated this scenario is for experienced players, even though it’s level 1-4. While Starfinder specific experience is not necessary, I highly recommend having some kind of plan.
What do I need to know?
Fantasy Grounds
In order to move the story and combat along at a reasonable pace, some basic Fantasy Grounds knowledge is recommended (how to roll checks, how to target creatures, …). If necessary, a short introduction to Fantasy Grounds can be given prior to the game (before the game’s official start time).
Starfinder Rules
If you are familiar with Pathfinder or even 5E, you should be able to adapt to Starfinder pretty easily. There are some differences but nothing you have to worry about too much as a player.
If you are not familiar with Pathfinder or 5E, a short introduction to the most important rules can be given (before the game’s official start time).
If you are in doubt of what you can do, the GM will hopefully be able to help you.
If you want to prepare, you should be familiar with two aspects: First, you should know the basics of combat (Chapter 8 of the Core Rulebook), at least which actions you can take in combat, the differences between full actions, standard actions, move actions and swift actions (p 244-249) and the most important rules concerning movement (p 255-257), as well as the two different health pools and what you use Resolve Points for (p 22-23). Second, you should know your character’s abilites (especially class abilities).
Character Creation
If you want to construct your own level 1 character (or higher if you already participated in Starfinder Society), you might want to take a look at the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide (free), which contains some restrictions on what options you can use. Generally, options from the Core Rulebook are allowed, options from other official sources might be allowed. I can usually have the server up for you to construct your character on UTC evenings. Be aware that building the character on Fantasy Grounds just before the game (or during the game) is not recommended.
Alternatively, you can choose one of the pregens (already built on Fantasy Grounds but please let me know which one you’ll pick before as I have to make some small corrections on the character sheets).
Feel free to discuss your characters in the comments so you can decide on party composition and subtier.
Starfinder Society
If you are new to Starfinder Society: You’ll need a Paizo Organized Play number (can be provided if necessary) and a faction (see the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide).
If you already are involved in Starfinder Society, you’ll need to provide your previous chronicle sheet or at least Organized Play #, character #, faction and the various starting values (credits, XP, fame, reputation), e.g. in the Society tab on Fantasy Grounds.
What do I need?
An installed and updated version of Fantasy Grounds. A (free) demo version is enough.
Discord (preferably installed) as we will be using the official Fantasy Grounds Discord server.
A headset or another way to make sure that a) you can be heard clearly and b) there is no echo.
An Internet connection.

NOTE: This GM has an Ultimate FG license and anyone may play, including those with unlicensed/free clients.
Bookings
Bookings for this event have now closed.
Dr Tara Watts will be there…
http://valhallas.com/TaraWatts.pdf
…so the team will have a doctor/psychologist! (however, she starts out unarmed…)
I will bring a Solarian
…if I can register.
Unfortunately with only one person signed up, there was not enough interest for this game.
Ok, thanks for letting me know.
