A Pathfinder Society Special designed for Levels 1–11.
The Ruby Phoenix Tournament is nigh, and organizations and individuals throughout the Inner Sea are scrambling to secure a spot in the legendary Tian fighting competition, among them the Pathfinder Society. In an underground qualifier event overseen by an enigmatic old monk and his oni spokesman, the Pathfinders must overcome the opposition to ensure the Society can send representatives to distant Goka to compete in the Ruby Phoenix Tournament itself. Battles will rage and blood will flow under the streets of Absalom, and only the greatest combatants will emerge victorious.
Written by Tim Hitchcock.
This special is a single scenario played by multiple tables simultaneously (minimum 5) and requires one GM per table and an overseer GM to coordinate the entire event.
Bookings
Bookings for this event have now closed.
Here is a list of characters I have available to play (in descending preference);
7 Investigator [Controller] << REALLY would prefer to play this
9 Sorcerer [Controller]
8 Cavalier [Switch-hit striker]
8 Gunslinger [Ranged striker]
Only have the one character to use and he’s a Bard 6 / Ranger 2.
My character is Thea, a level 7 Spirit Ranger.
I got the scenario today and it is important to note that this is actually the subtier 8-9 table NOT the subtier 7-8. It doesn’t really change much as far as the PCs go, Level 7s DO have the option of playing down into the 5-6 if they wish and the monsters are a little tougher. And Level 9s MUST play this subtier rather than the 10-11 table.
I’ll use my switch hitter cavalier so that Myrddin can play a bard and then Flower can do ranged striker.
That way (theoretically) we have melee striker, ranged striker and knowledges covered.
Just to give you all a heads up; we have two tables with 3 players each and two tables with only 2 players each. With the 5 of you, that puts us at 15 players total. Since 3 can be run with an NPC, this means we may be asking some of you to switch tables, if no one else signs up by tomorrow.
The 3-4 table needs one more person and then can be made legal with an NPC. If one of you is willing to switch but don’t have a PC in that range, you are welcome to use a 4th level Pregen.
The 10-11 table needs 2 more people (because NPC pregens only go to 7th level), so we are looking to switch that down to another subtier. If one of you is willing to jump over to that one, the 3 of you (and GM) can determine which subtier would work best for you all.
The reason I’m asking is that this is a Multi-table that Paizo requires 5 tables minimum to run. And since we only have 5 tables, if one doesn’t run, then none of them do.
So if any of you are willing to shuffle around a bit, please let us know.
Thank you.
I can switch to another table if needed, I have a wide range of characters, but I would prefer to play in the higher tiers. If the 10-11 table becomes 8-9 that would work for me, but I also have characters for 5-6, 3-4 and 1-2.
It doesn’t look like a second 8-9 table is viable currently. So it would likely go another way. If the 10-11 player and Sayok both switch to one of the tiers that have 4 players currently.. we should be good.
Sayok.. which PC is yours? It gets a bit confusing with names and handles not matching.
My PC is Aeda. I am a bit confused as to what we have currently. A tier 8-9 table, and what else and how many players at each table?
We need 5 tables for the event to take place. Each table needs a minimum of 3 PCs.
This is the current status of the event.

So with 1 player, the 10-11 table isn’t likely to happen.
Our table, the subtier 5-6, and the subtier 1-2 table are solid and have an ‘extra’ player. If the subtier 10-11 player and one of the extra players join one of the subtiers with 4 then we can run 2 tables at that subtier and it will all be good. It’s just a question of getting 3 flexible players with characters of appropriate level or who are willing to play pregens.
Also.. this is all pretty last minute so prepping characters for FG is going to take a bit of effort… the pregens are all ready to go.. but.. going with PCs that are prepped or at least relatively uncomplicated would be good.
Alternatively, if we can find a few friends who’d really like to join us this weekend for the event.. that would make the whole thing simpler. I sent out a couple emails to try and encourage that.
Ive updated the post on the Paizo forums and posted on G+ in the main Pathfinder Society groups.
Can someone post it on FB and Reddit?
Tier 5-6 works for me.
