A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5 (sub-tiers 1-2 or 4-5, Core). You must have a CORE-registered character to participate in this game.

Click here for more details of playing Pathfinder Society at FG-CON 8!

Ever since the tragedy at Delvehaven decades ago, the infernal empire Cheliax has rarely allowed Pathfinders to explore its many ruins and archaeological treasures—even then only after its recently disenfranchised liaison Zarta Dralneen fought for that privilege. Cheliax has once again extended its hand to the Society, inviting its agents to investigate an abandoned keep that dates back to the Chelish civil war. It’s up to the PCs to navigate the Corentyn’s streets and politics as they uncover the buried past and lay the foundation for a new partnership with a one-time foe.

“Let Bygones Be” is the first scenario in the three-part Faithless and Forgotten campaign arc. It is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #7-16: “Lost Colony of Taldor” and Pathfinder Society Scenarios #7-18: “The Infernal Inheritance.” All three chapters are intended to be played in order.

    Hello,
While hoping for approval to play, I would like to briefly present my PFS Core character.
Madog Oweinsson is a Human (Ulfen) Ranger.
He currently provides a party with survival / tracking skills, moderate perception and stealth, and a mix of melee and ranged combat capabilities.
He would be 1st level in Part I, but has 2 XP and would finally achieve 2nd level between Part I and Part II of this series.
His prior 2 games were in Quest for Perfection run by cmdisc (under the name Cuthalion Aearoncrist from which he has been only slightly modified and somewhat geared up now).

    Hi All –

I’m expecting that this game will probably run on sub-tier 1-2, since there will be new people. I will accept up to level 3 PFS characters for this adventure (where most are hopefully level 1-2).

Hector – this is a 3-part series and the party will be the same for all 3 parts. I see that you registered for part 1 only, so I could not accept your booking. However, I will hold a space for you in Trouble in Tamran later in the day. Please have a look at that listing.

    Here is the link:
    https://www.fg-con.com/events/pfs-7-07-trouble-in-tamran-tier-1-5-normal/

Admittedly, this one filled up very fast!

Alternately, if you’ve already played Trouble in Tamran or the timing doesn’t work, I’m happy to run the series again after the CON and include you.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to it!

    HG

Hector – I will also add that if anyone drops or does not show, you are the 1st alternate, providing that you can play all 3 games (1 per day in the same time slot).

Can I please get added as an alternate? Making same request in all 3 games

HoloGnome, I can’t make the second session, but thanks for holding a slot open. I was interested in testing the waters of the game. If you run it after that con, I’d be interested. Thanks!

    Sounds good, Hector.

For others – unfortunately, this session is full and has 1 alternate. If you are looking for another introductory PFS session, please try Trouble in Tamran here:
    https://www.fg-con.com/events/pfs-7-07-trouble-in-tamran-tier-1-5-normal/

There are still some spots open!

    OK – sounds good.
    1st alternate: pauljathome
    2nd alternate: cmdisc

In order to get (or keep) a seat, you must be present for the start time of the session. If you are not present by the posted start time, an alternate will get your seat.

Looks like our party composition so far is:

    1. IrishBouzouki: Madog Oweinsson, Ranger lvl 1 (will advance to lvl 2 after part 1)
    2. bsktballchmp85: Geltonk Firebomb. Cleric lvl 2
    3. bigboom: Devlan. Fighter lvl 2 (will advance to lvl 3 after part 2)

Hi All – thanks for signing up. Please post the characters you would like to bring so that we can figure out the party composition and sub-tier. Thx!

On your marks, get set…MUSTER! 🙂

    HG

NOTE 1: If you are not present at the start time of this game, the alternate will get your spot in all 3 games in this series. So, please be a few minutes early.

NOTE 2: If you have not submitted a character to me within 8 hrs. of the start time of this game, you will need to use a pregen/1 or pregen/4, depending on sub-tier.

ps. 1st alternate for all 3 games is: pauljathome
    2nd alternate is cmdisc
    3rd alternate is gianmh

If there is a space available at the start of the game, it will go to the highest ranked alternate that is present and can play all 3 games.

hey holognome Geltonk Firebomb just hit level 3 this past weekend so all three missions he will be level 3

  22. HoloGnome
    April 6, 2016 at 13:08

OK – please do not play Geltonk any more before FGCON. We are playing the lower sub-tier and players will be using the same characters for all 3 parts.

Mayoral & Landanderiel: are your characters level 2.0? If not, then we are probably going to have manage sub-tier/APL issues by Part 3 unless some of the party goes slow.

When the APL hits 2.6 (or rounded up to 3) (L3 (geltonk) +L3 (devlin) +L3 (nitash) +L3 (vin) +L2+L2), per the Guide, you will all be playing the upper sub-tier with lower level characters, which I cannot recommend.

So, in order to make sure there are not any sub-tier problems by Part 3, some of you may have to play slow or start the series with a different character. Geltonk is already out-of-subtier. So, among Devlin, Nitash and Vin, the 3 of you are going to need to collaborate on maintaining the sub-tier where one or more of you stay at level 2 with slow progression so that the party can remain intact for all 3 scenarios. The Level 1 characters should not be asked to go slow.

Please post your exact starting XP values and who among you is willing to take a slow reward. Thanks!

    Guide, p. 33:
“Starting with Season 4, scenarios are designed for six characters and contain instructions on how to adjust the scenario for four-character parties. When the APL of a table is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario), a party of four characters must play the lower tier without any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustment.”

  23. Bigboom
    April 6, 2016 at 17:40

Devlan is currently at 4xp. I can go slow for part 1 and 2. That’ll ensure he’s still at level 2 going into part 3 (5xp).

Then he’ll go normal for part 3 so that once we finish part 3, he’ll be at 6 and level 3 for his next adventure after the con!

  24. HoloGnome
    April 7, 2016 at 00:18

I suppose in the case where there are multiple 3rd levels, you can still decide to play down per the Guide…but it’s also a bit much for a sub-tier 1-2 fight.

  25. pauljathome
    April 7, 2016 at 00:22

Don’t forget that you can play in slow mode (Getting 1/2 the rewards for a scenario). This can often be used if there are potential levelling issues

  26. Bigboom
    April 7, 2016 at 04:58

Just to make sure I understand this correctly, for season 4 and after in a tier 1-5 game:
    1. If the APL is 2.4 or lower, then the game would be in low tier.
    2. If the APL is at 2.5, then we can opt to play in low tier or high tier.
    3. If the APL is at 2.6 or higher, then the game would be in high tier.

    Is this breakdown correct?

  27. HoloGnome
    April 7, 2016 at 07:01

Not quite. See my previous post above. If the APL were to indicate the upper sub-tier, given that none of your PCs would be in sub-tier @ level 4-5, you could still opt to play the lower sub-tier. However, if the majority of the party ends up out-of-sub-tier for a 1st level adventure, there’s not much of a challenge there, as you might imagine. So, the question is – what kind of challenge do you want? Given the latter rule about not being in sub-tier, there’s no requirement to go slow. I don’t have insight into the 2 other Level 2’s at the moment. Part 3 could end up with 4 level 3’s and 2 level 2’s, which will definitely be an easier run. If you want more of a challenge, go slow so that most of the party remains in sub-tier. It’s up to you.

I’ll have a little bit of free time today so if anyone is new and needs a hand putting their XML together, I can try to assist. I’m no expert, but I’ll help where I can. Just drop me a PM on the Fantasy Grounds forums!

Paul and cmdisc have both withdrawn as alternates.

Gianmh – you are first in line for the alternate spot going into the start of the game.

  31. HoloGnome
    April 8, 2016 at 18:11

Others – please make sure that you have sent me the following:
    1. A Fantasy Grounds character xml. This should be a file that you have set up in your local FG client, exported and forwarded to me. Hero Lab .hlfg files are not acceptable and you must convert and set them up properly before forwarding them to me.
    2. Your character avatar image.
    3. Your previous, signed chronicle, which should be fully filled out, including chronicle number, header information, XP, PP, current gold, etc.

  32. HoloGnome
    April 8, 2016 at 18:53

Mayoral: I have imported Nitash and Familiar.
    Character feedback as follows:
    1. You have not selected all your spells
    2. The spells you did select were not set up correctly/had no effects (fixed)
    3. Your inventory is missing key items (waterskin, rations. Also, note that your base outfit has no encumbrance in PFS.)
    4. Your character should have a Wand of Cure Light Wounds, but none is shown.
    5. You seem to be missing 1 skill point – should be 14 at 2+INT/level
    6. You were missing attack damage types and Cuervo’s attack was not correct (fixed)

  33. HoloGnome
    April 8, 2016 at 19:06

Aerine: I have imported Vin Sha
    Character Feedback as follows:
    1. Your character is level 2 – you submitted a level 1 xml – partially fixed – hp, BAB, saves). You need to choose a bonus feat and allocate skill points.
    2. Your Monk abilities are not set up – notably: Stunning Fist & Flurry of Blows (with effects)
    3. Your AC was not set up correctly within Fantasy Grounds (fixed) – you choose the secondary stat, which also affects your touch and flat-footed ACs

Please log in early and fix the monk abilities (if you expect to use them).

Brian – Geltonk looks mostly OK. Maybe missing some inventory items. Thx.

  36. HoloGnome
    April 8, 2016 at 19:23

Bigboom: Devlan looks mostly OK – your Wand of CLW is not set up correctly – you can’t use spell slots that will be reset on every rest. If you want to track, use a number or ammo (not reset on rest).

    • Bigboom
      April 8, 2016 at 22:25

I should have the wand listed in the spell list with the healing effect and also listed in the weapon list with the ammo tracker set to track the number of charges. If not, I’ll correct it when I’m online. Thanks!

    April 8, 2016 at 19:27

BK. I’m sure Olug is good. Make sure you send me his previous chronicle.

  38. HoloGnome

OK – all characters loaded, except for Gianmh, the alternate.

  39. HoloGnome
    April 8, 2016 at 22:22

OK – Gianmh also can’t make it, so if someone is a no-show, we will start without them. If anyone wants to play at the last minute, you are welcome to use a pregen or a fully prepped FG XML format CORE PFS character.
