A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 7th level characters (Tiers: 1–2, 3–4, and 6–7).
Click here for more details of playing Pathfinder Society at FG-Con.
The Pathfinder Society sends you to Kaer Maga, the City of Strangers, where you are ordered to find a local Pathfinder associate who sent a strange letter to Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng in Absalom. When the local associate turns up dead and you find evidence linking his death to a mysterious organization called The Shadow Lodge, it’s up to you to track them down and solve the man’s murder. The Shadow Gambit is the first scenario in the two-part The City of Strangers campaign arc. Pathfinder Society Scenario #52: The City of Strangers—Part II: The Twofold Demise is the sequel. Hi all,
Just advising you that the timeslot for this session has been moved 1 hour to prevent clashing with another session. The times now showing are the correct ones.
Nice, thanks. Bringing along a 5th level Cleric of Sarenrae for this. She is party support and not designed for melee. If she’s moving to the frontline, then things are really getting desperate. :p
Hoping to bring a 2nd level sorcerer trapsmith if that works out ok.
What level character should we bring along?
Looks like my sorcerer might be 3rd at start now if that works out easier.
My cleric of Sarenrae is currently 5th level, but this scenario will level her to 6th for Part II.
I also have a 2nd level Archaeologist I can bring along if we’re running a lower sub-tier.
My sorcerer is 3rd now, as a note he is also a trap finder/disarm specialist. Hopefully this fits in, else I am dropping into a level 1 character either unplayed or with 1xp.
Thanks for the email, Andrew. Will get the XML and latest Chronicle out to you shortly.
I’m going to go ahead and say I’m bringing my 2nd lvl Bard (archaeologist) for this unless we somehow hit the 6-7 sub-tier. I’d prefer not to “play down” my 5L cleric in a 1-2 or 3-4 sub-tier as that would make her overpowered for the adventure as well as shortchanged on the reward end.
My Bard is only playing in your two games this weekend, so there will be no rush on the Chronicles. You can prepare his last. Assuming he survives, they will be enough to push him to 3rd where I have a pregen credit waiting for him from the ‘Risen from the Sands’ mod.
Looking forward to gaming with you.
I’ll be playing PFS for the 2nd time.
The first will be the day before in 2 sessions, The Beggar’s Pearl (1-7) and The Confirmation (1-2).
I’d love to use my PC (Ninja:1) from the Confirmation, but am willing to use a pregen if you all want to play higher levels.
for tier 1-2 I have 10 lvl 1s so I can fit into any role there and 2 lvl 2s, for tier 6-7 I have a bad touch cleric 6 and a melee inquisitor 7 who will reach 8 after part 2
here’s my list of lvl 1s and 2s if you’re interested: Aasimar Wizard 1 & Support Cleric 1; Tiefling Draconic Sorc 1, Archer Paladin 2, Mr Hyde Alchemist 1, Ninja 1, Barbarian 1, Bladebound Kensai Magus 1; Gnome Bard 1; Investigator 2 and Kitsune Swashbuckler 1 – the wizard, bard and Investigator would all lvl after part 1
correction, the wizard has already lvled and is now wizard 1 cleric 1
So looking at the 1-2 sub-tier most likely Ill bring my Level 1 Druid.
Hey guys – just found out I’ve got something that runs from 1pm-3pm that I need to go to, so unless you can guarantee that this will end after 3hrs I won’t be able to attend or will have to leave early
It will run longer than 3 hrs I think
Sub-tier 1-2 sounds good. So far we’re looking at a Ninja 1, Druid 1, and Archaeologist 2. Nice start. Could probably use someone else on the frontline along with my Arch though. He has a reach weapon, but he’s no tank.
@ Farnaby; those are both good Scenarios. Enjoy! 🙂
My druid likes mixing it up in combat, but also lacks the heavy armour of a tank.
Hi all,
Almost time for the con…start sending me your character xmls…
Chronicles too if u can, those of you that will be waiting on chronicles from the con, send me your relevant PC details i.e. name, class, level, PFS id#, faction, etc.
Any updates on what everyone is bringing? So far it looks like:
Ninja 1
Druid 1
Bard (Archaeologist) 2
A healer type would be helpful although the druid and bard can both use wands. Could also use a tough melee type.
I’ll bring Diana, she’s an Elf Rogue Level 1, who uses the Elven Curved Blade. She can definitely pump out the damage, and would work well with our Ninja. I’ll e-mail my information.
So a Rogue, Ninja, Druid, and Bard so far.
2 unknowns, one of which can only stay for half the session at most…which might be enough to earn the XP as long as we can knock out 3 structured encounters before he goes. Hard to say though.
Could still use a front-liner if possible. Otherwise we’ll make due.
Logus has a CLW wand to add to the group.
